Privacy Policy
CircuitMath ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website located at circuitmath.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Service. We are committed to transparency and to respecting your privacy. By using CircuitMath, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
CircuitMath is designed to be a stateless tool. When you use the circuit analysis feature, your circuit schematic data is sent to our backend server for processing. This data includes the components you have placed on the canvas, their values, and their connections. We use this data solely to perform the requested analysis and return the resulting equations to your browser.
We do not store your circuit data on our servers after the analysis is complete. Each analysis request is processed in real time and the data is discarded immediately after the response is sent. We do not maintain any database of user-submitted circuits.
We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information to use CircuitMath. If you choose to contact us via email, we will receive whatever information you include in your message, such as your email address and the content of your correspondence.
Our web server automatically collects standard log data, which may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and the pages you visit on our site. This information is used solely for maintaining the security and performance of the Service and is not used to identify individual users.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
CircuitMath itself does not set any first-party cookies for tracking purposes. However, our Service uses Google AdSense to display advertisements, and Google AdSense may set third-party cookies on your device. These cookies are used by Google to serve personalized advertisements based on your browsing history across different websites.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to CircuitMath or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's own privacy policy, which you can review at policies.google.com/privacy. You may opt out of personalized advertising through any of the following:
- Google Ads Settings — manage the ads Google shows you.
- optout.aboutads.info and YourAdChoices — the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tools.
- optout.networkadvertising.org — the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies entirely. Please note that blocking cookies may affect the functionality of some websites, though CircuitMath's core analysis features will continue to work without cookies.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services in connection with the operation of CircuitMath:
- Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our site. Google AdSense may collect data about your visits to CircuitMath and other websites to provide targeted advertisements. This data collection is governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for content delivery, DNS management, and security protection. Cloudflare may process certain technical data (such as your IP address) as part of delivering our website to you. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to any other third parties beyond what is described above. We do not use any analytics services that track individual user behavior.
Data Retention
As described above, CircuitMath operates as a stateless service. We do not retain your circuit data after an analysis request is completed. Server logs containing standard access information are retained for a limited period (typically no more than 30 days) for security and operational purposes, after which they are automatically deleted.
If you contact us via email, we may retain your correspondence for as long as necessary to address your inquiry and for our records. You may request deletion of any email correspondence by contacting us at the address listed below.
Children's Privacy
CircuitMath is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below so that we can take appropriate action. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data under applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents.
These rights may include:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- The right to request deletion of your personal data.
- The right to object to or restrict the processing of your personal data.
- The right to data portability.
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (under CCPA). Note that we do not sell personal information.
Because CircuitMath does not require accounts and does not store personal data beyond server logs, most of these rights are satisfied by default. If you wish to exercise any of these rights with respect to data we may hold (such as server logs or email correspondence), please contact us using the information below.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information processed through our Service. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
